Full steam ahead!
The wheels are well in motion for the 2010 4WD Caravan Camping & Marine Show. Last year's event was launched on Monday 22nd June at Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter base in Lismore. The launch received a good response from regional media.
Keynote speakers at the launch included Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Chairman Warren Tozer, Cr Isaac Smith and Lismore City Mayor Jenny Dowell, and NRMA’s Regional Manager Mario Napoli.
4WD Caravan Camping & Marine Show
The largest motoring organisation in Australia, NRMA Motoring + Services, has signed up as naming rights sponsor for the Lismore 4WD Caravan, Camping & Marine Show.
NRMA President Wendy Machin said that the NRMA Motoring + Services 4WD Caravan, Camping & Marine Show 2009 would be the largest outdoor leisure expo that regional NSW has ever seen.
“NRMA is proud to be involved with regional NSW motoring events,” Ms Machin said.
The event is coordinated by Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter with all proceeds going to the service. Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter’s Chairman of the Board, Warren Tozer, said he was thrilled to have such a prestigious organisation as NRMA Motoring + Services on board.
“Over the last 12 years the event has grown significantly, and this year is shaping up to be the greatest show yet,” said Mr Tozer.
“This is the first year we have a naming rights sponsor and it represents a major boost for the event. We have already exceeded last year’s record number of exhibitors, which is remarkable, considering the state of the economy.”
A diverse range of exhibitors will showcase caravans, motor-homes, RVs, 4WDs, boats, camping and marine equipment and much more at Lismore Showground on July 10-12.
Ms Machin has confirmed that as well as sponsoring the event, NRMA Motoring + Services will have a strong presence at the show.
“The NRMA will provide show-goers with the opportunity for 17 and 18 year olds to sign up for 12 months free NRMA roadside assistance through the Free2go Program, tryout NRMA’s Travel Planner, watch crash test videos and get great show deals & discounts on NRMA batteries and NRMA magazines,” Ms Machin said.
“Members who swipe their Membership card at our Mobile Member Centre could win a $1000 voucher to use at our Darlington Beach Holiday Park.
“The $55 membership joining fee will also be waived for show-goers wanting to join the NRMA.”
Other attractions include cooking demos by Rachael Bermingham and Kim McCosker, authors of the best-selling cookbooks ‘4 Ingredients’, the Country Energy Great East Coast Camp Oven Cook Off with over $2000 worth of prizes, the Cellar Door Wine Fest, special guests Big Dog, Hodgie the Barefoot Fisherman and one man band Juzzie Smith, the Yamaha Fishing Tank, Steve McEwan’s reptile world, emergency services demonstrations, rides, free helicopter show bags and face painting for kids.
Everyone who attends the show will go in the draw to win a Quintrex Traveller Tinny with motor valued at more than $5000, courtesy of Watsons Trimming and Marine.
Gates open 9am-4pm daily with free onsite parking available. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for aged pensioners(government issued only), and children under 14 are free when accompanied by an adult.
